The Easy Sprout sprouter, designed and distributed by Gene Monson, is my favourite way to sprout broccoli. It also works well for almost any other seed, but really shines on seed that only need 2 or 3 days sprouting time, like grains, broccoli, peas, lentils, and most mixes. It will also grow salad type sprouts, like alfalfa and red clover, but in smaller quantities.

This is a dual-container sprouting system (made of durable, easy-to-clean, quality food grade material), and uses the heat produced by the growing sprouts to ventilate by convection.
It comes with directions and suggestions, and works well to store your finished sprouts in the fridge.

We have finally found an automatic sprouter that fills the gap between manual sprouting the the larger scale Val Archer Automatic Sprouter. The new Freshgreen sprouter will grow up to 1 kg (2.2lbs) of sprouts or microgreens in a cycle of approximately one week, or twice as much with the optional second tub. We actually harvested 1.1kg (2.5lbs) of beautiful sunflower shoots from 180g (6.4 oz) of seed, in a week.

Above is a picture of the Freshgreen showing the huge crisp mung beans that can be grown with very little effort. In our opinion the Freshgreen is the easiest home device for growing mung beans and soy beans to restaurant quality. (Be sure to cover the sprouter, or sprout in a dark room when growing mung beans. Any light can cause bitterness in bean sprouts.)
You can leave the water for as long as two days, but it does need to be changed.

If you need a moderate amount of wheatgrass, the Freshgreen works well. Each layer can produce a pound of grass every 10 days. This yields 10 to 12 oz of juice. If you can use both tubs this amount can be produced every 5 days.

Start with one to four kinds of seed per tub, cover with the top layer to encourage tall growth, and in a few days you'll have beautiful crops.

Ordering the second optional layer allows for continual production of large amounts of sprouts.

A nice crop of radish sprouts ready to store in the fridge. The Freshgreen will grow most types of sprouts.
